The Papaya is a tropical houseplant that loves warmth, plenty of light and a sheltered spot. Put the plant somewhere warm and avoid draughts or big swings in temperature. With the right care the Papaya grows relatively fast and puts out large, decorative leaves. The Papaya isn't hardy, so it's suitable only as a houseplant or for a warm conservatory.

The Papaya likes lightly moist potting soil but won't tolerate wet feet. Let the top layer of soil dry out a little before you water again. During the growing season the plant needs more water than in the winter months.
How much light does the Papaya - 150cm need?
The Papaya likes a very bright spot with plenty of direct sunlight best. The more light it gets, the better it grows and the better its leaves look. A place by a sunny window is therefore ideal. Too little light slows growth down and the leaves may stay smaller.
